First Day of Treatment Begins

Hello Sunshine Squad!

Dottie had her first full day of treatment yesterday. Most of it was immunotherapy - that went on for a few hours, filled with Benadryl, Tylenol, and a mix of other things. The end of the day was a 10-minute infusion of Chemo.

*******The doctors keep telling her that crowds are bad - so if any of you see her - NO KISSING! I know our instinct is to say hello and give a kiss, but please refrain from any of that as her immune system is now, and for the foreseeable future, compromised. Okay - PSA announcement now complete. *****

She will get another dose of Chemo today for another 10 mins, and then she can return home.

So far she is feeling pretty well - she doesn't feel it going into her body through the port - I guess they know what they are doing when it comes to this! They also said that this type of chemo, she probably will not lose her hair (YAY!!!!!). She said she is mostly tired and was thankful for the dinner she and Nikki made and brought down there for the three of them to enjoy in the hotel room.

The next few days will let us know how she feels as the chemo seeps in to fix her! Presumably, she will be very tired, and perhaps some nausea/food tasting funny.... all those things you hear come with Chemo. But hopefully she can enjoy her birthday today the best she can, and we can enjoy some viddles together to celebrate her vibrant life!!!

That's it for now!

xoxo
