First Day of Treatment Begins

Hello Sunshine Squad! Dottie had her first full day of treatment yesterday. Most of it was immunotherapy - that went on for a few hours, filled with Benadryl, Tylenol, and a mix of other things. The end of the day was a 10-minute infusion of Chemo. *******The doctors keep telling her that crowds are bad - so if any of you see her - NO KISSING! Treatment Begins?

Since the treatment is closer to Atlanta - Dottie and Gary got a hotel room for 2 nights to get this first treatment done. Our girl was all set and ready to go last week - it was scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. Then, last minute, the morning of, she was told they didn't have all the information needed to get the "cocktail" right for her chemo, so they postponed it until next Monday, the 18th and 19th. Diagnosis Information

Dotti has Follicular Lymphoma. Wow. That feels so heavy to say/write. You can read about it here if you would like. She is stage 3 - but that sounds worse than it is with this type of cancer. They found it during her annual mammogram (LADIES - let this be a reminder to you if you are late or need to schedule yours!!!!!). The whole thing took about 6 months to get diagnosed, and she had to do a lot of her own care in the beginning for follow-ups and then finally a PET scan. Wi
